I started a quest for a nice place to record in the Banff/Canmore area. I was recommended to go check out St. Michael's Anglican Church in Canmore. It was built in 1893.
The reason it was recommended to me was it has a nice piano! Unfortunately, the room in which the good piano lives is somewhat compromised acoustically. Lot's of synthetic floor and parallel walls.
The main Sanctuary is beautiful but small. Lots of wood and carpet that could be removed for added reflections. The piano is an upright Yamaha U1. Sounds OK but not great for serious classical repertoire.
